Meet the Teacher is one of my favorite activities of the school year. Last year we had to hold it virtually so I am so excited for my first in-person Meet the Teacher Night for Preschool! I create a list of things that I included on this night to help y'all as you prepare for your Meet the Teacher Night:
Preschool Handbook- Includes information on attendance, transportation, dress code, and parent/teacher communication informatoin
Snack List- list of classroom snacks for parents to refer to when donating snack to the classroom for snack time
Snack Calendar (on a Post It)- We have two students a week donate snack, I put down each students week on a post it for parents as a reminder of their week/day to donate snack
Supplies List- Due to the amount of materials we already have the supplies list only included Clorox wipes, Kleenex, Waterbottle, a Folder, and a Backpack to take back and forth from school
Meet the Teacher Introduction- I wrote a letter to introduce myself, I included my education and my previous teaching experiences as well as a bit of how the classroom will be structured
Parent Contact Sheet- Parents fill out their contact information for me to have handy
Student Interest Form- Parents fill out a form with their child's likes and dislikes and share how their child learns best
Teacher Contact Cards- I made little cards and laminated them with my email and Google Voice phone number so they can easily call, text or email when needed
I also made sure to touch base on:
PECs system with our student picture schedules
Daily Schedule
Parent/Teacher Communication (we use ClassTag)
Transportation to and from school
Areas of the classroom (sensory, library, toy area, kitchen, centers)
Therapies (Speech, Occupational and Physical- depending on the child's IEP)
IEP goals and Minutes
These are just some ideas but I hope they help you as you go through your own Meet the Teacher Day or Night!
