I'm Back!

Wow it's been a while! The past few years have been crazy busy with a lot of growth both educationally, mentally, and physically.

The transition to kindergarten led me to an amazing two years! I learned so much during this time about general education after making the switch from 5 years of special education. I had always known I plan to move up in the world of education and therefore needed more diverse experience which is why I switched to general education. The joys Kindergarten brought me were endless! There isn't a comparison to watching them come in with some or no school experience and grow so much over the school year. During the two years I also worked on LETRS 90hrs of literacy training and was able to use my new knowledge and extension of knowledge to get amazing growth from my students!

My Kindergarteners also were the ones who helped me reach my goal of becoming a National Board Teacher! I started the process a year after moving from Minnesota and after 4 years of hard work I did it!

This year I decided to continue to expand my teaching experience by taking on 5th grade Math. This has been one of the hardest years of my teaching career but thankfully I have been able to manage it after working so hard the past few years on my mental health. I have learned what "fills my bucket" and how to keep in mind what I can and what I cannot control. It isn't always easy but it is a game changer when you can look at a situation and let it go because there isn't anything you can do about it.

Another thing I have taken on is teaching Kindergarten-4th Grade Gifted. I am working on my gifted endorsement and have truly enjoyed learning about and working with gifted students! It has been fun to learn how to challenge them!

I am still staying active in the gym and eating healthy! I have limited dairy and gluten even more over the past few years and also had a second surgery for Endometriosis. Overall, I am the healthiest I have been in years.

One of my goals for 2025 is to get back to blogging at least once a month so I plan to continue updating on all the things I have learned over the past few years!

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2025!
