Getting Ready for the School Year

Who else thinks its crazy the new school year is starting so soon? As a Minnesota girl and teacher I was always use to school starting after Labor Day and ending around the first week of June. However, in Arizona we start the last week of July and end mid May. It was an adjustment at first but going into my second year of teaching in Arizona it feels natural to be getting ready for students to start soon! Our first day with students will be August 9th but we started back the last week of July with lots of trainings and meetings to get ready for the year. Some highlights of the week are participating in CPI training to renew my certification and Meet the Teacher Night (see my next blog on what I went over and included). We will be short paras so it will make for an interesting start to the school year. However, I have no doubt our Preschool Team will make it work! As much as I wish Summer wasn't over it feels so good to get back to a routine and I am so excited to see my previous students who will join me again this year and to meet my new students!
